Stories That Empower

work x work rebrands Sony Music joint venture production company

After releasing several breakout shows and landing a joint venture with Sony Music, Broccoli Productions was ready to reimagine their visual design. CEO Renay Richardson engaged work x work for brand strategy, design, copy and a new website. Broccoli Productions is well known for creating the Equality in Audio Pact and stands for bringing more minority talent into the podcast industry. Our research and insights informed the tagline “stories that empower,” and bringing Broccoli’s values front and center to the new identity.

Inspired by Broccoli’s DIY sensibility and the story of the company’s name (“broccoli is what’s good for you”) we inked up the namesake vegetable back in our studio to create a series of original broccoli block prints and paintings. The art direction emerged as a collage: layering multiple analog textures to express the range of perspectives and experiences Broccoli champions in their podcasts. The logo is a nod to both the company’s ambitions in the audio space and a play on the idea of a ‘crown’ of broccoli.

Broccoli is

Our launch campaign became a statement based rally cry bringing new meaning to the brand.

“working with work x work was so easy. the team got to know us, and literally brought our brand to life.”
